One seriously hurt in Hamilton crash

One person has been seriously injured after a crash in Hamilton this afternoon.

Three vehicles were involved in the crash on Avalon Drive, on State Highway One, about 12.20pm, a police spokesman said.

Two people have been taken to Waikato Hospital, one with serious injuries.

Serious crash investigators were at the scene and the road would be closed for some time.

Motorists were warned to expect delays and diversions were in place.
