One serious after Kapiti Coast crash

One person has been airlifted to Wellington Hospital following a car crash on the Kapiti Coast this morning.

A car went off the road and into a ditch on Otaihanga Road shortly after 5:30am.

Two occupants of the car suffered minor injuries, while another was airlifted with serious injuries.

Police have also dealt with a minor multi-car crash in the fast lane just by the Johnsonville off ramp south bound on State Highway 1.

The incident happened around 7:30am.

Vehicles have now been cleared from the scene.
