One reported dead in Hawke's Bay crash

One person is dead and another person is seriously injured after two trucks collided on State Highway 2 in Hawke's Bay this evening.

An ambulance central communications spokeswoman said the crash happened just after 8.30pm 5 km north of Takapau.

She said one person died at the scene and another person with serious injuries was taken by road to Hawke's Bay Hospital.

Police at the scene are diverting traffic between Ashcot Rd and SH50.
