One remains in critical condition following horror crash

One man remains in Auckland Hospital in a serious condition following a horror crash on State Highway 16, northwest Auckland on Saturday night.

Eleven people were injured in the three-car crash on SH16 near Waimauku about 6.15pm on Saturday.

One man in his 20s remains in hospital. He was the driver of one vehicle involved and suffered multiple injuries in the crash.

The crash happened when a car collided with a minivan, pushing it into another car and sending it 20m down a bank.

The Auckland Rescue Helicopter transported him to Auckland Hospital in a critical condition.

Five children were in the process of being discharged from Starship Hospital and four adults would be discharged from Auckland Hospital.
