One person was trapped in their vehicle after a two-car crash on the Northern Motorway, about 10km from Dunedin, this afternoon.
Emergency services were advised of the collision about 1pm, and remained at the scene. Senior Sergeant Kelvin Lloyd said emergency services were extracting one person with serious injuries from a vehicle.
The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The motorway was down to one lane but it was hoped the two cars would be removed from the road shortly.
