One person has been seriously hurt after a two-vehicle crash in Christchurch.
The collision happened near the intersection of Main South Rd and Parker St at about midnight.
One of the vehicles involved rolled and hit a pole.
Firefighters had to free a person who was trapped in the wreckage, Fire and Emergency NZ spokesman Riwai Grace said.
A St John ambulance spokesman said an ambulance and a rapid-response vehicle were sent to the scene and the injured person was taken to Christchurch Hospital.
