One person has been taken to hospital with serious head injuries following a collision in Paekakariki, north of Porirua.
Emergency services were called to the scene on State Highway One near Paekakariki Railway Station about 8pm last night.
The head-on crash left one car through a farm fence and the other blocking the southbound lane for around half an hour.
One occupant was taken to Wellington Hospital after losing a lot of blood, while two others were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
