One person is in hospital suffering from smoke inhalation from a house fire in Whanganui this morning.
Fire fighters were called to a Parkdale Drive property about 6am by a neighbour who saw smoke from the house, which was well alight.
A fire service spokeswoman said two crews attended the incident in the northern suburb of Aramoho and a fire investigator remained at the scene.
Two people were believed to be inside the house and one was taken to hospital by ambulance suffering from smoke inhalation.
It's not yet known if the property had working smoke alarms.
