One person has been extricated from a vehicle following a collision between a car and a van near New Plymouth this evening.
The incident took place on Barrett Rd, Whalers Gate, New Plymouth after 6pm.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman Murray Dunbar told the Herald one person was originally trapped but freed after staff arrived on the scene.
A police spokeswoman said officers and St John were still making their way to the scene and there was limited information.
