One person dead, another injured, following four-vehicle collision in Palmerston North

A person has died after a four-vehicle collision on a busy Palmerston North road overnight.

A police spokesperson said they were called to the scene on Napier Rd (State Highway 3) at 10pm Saturday night.

One person died at the scene while another was transported to hospital.

The road has reopened after being closed overnight while the Serious Crash unit investigated.

The spokesperson said the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
