One person dead after Waikato crash

One person died when a truck and a utility vehicle collided on State Highway 1 at the intersection with Forrest Rd west of Cambridge late last night.

It was the first fatal crash since before the Queen's Birthday weekend.

The zero road toll over the three-day holiday weekend was the first in more than 50 years.
