One person dead after two-vehicle crash near Bunnythorpe, near Palmerston North

One person has died following serious crash in Bunnythorpe, near Palmerston North in the Manawatū-Whanganui region, this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle crash in Colyton Rd at around 2.55pm.

“The road remains closed while the Serious Crash Unit examines the scene,” police said in a statement.

“Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.”

The incident comes just hours after a motorcyclist died after crashing in Kawakawa Rd, in nearby Feilding, on Saturday night.

Earlier today, another person died - and four people were injured - in a crash on State Highway 2 near Wairoa.

SH2 was blocked due to the 11.15am crash, but one lane of the road (between Ohinepaka and Mohaka) has since reopened and traffic management remains in place.
