A fire in a wool shed is under investigation this morning after a person was seriously injured in the blaze.
Emergency services were called to the fire on Waitao Rd in rural Welcome Bay about 10.10pm yesterday, Jaron Philips from the Fire Service northern communications centre said.
One person suffered burns and was in a serious condition, he said.
One person was treated at the scene and taken to Tauranga Emergency Department in a serious condition, St John Ambulance said.
Specialist fire investigators would return to the scene this morning to continue their examination to establish the cause of the blaze, Mr Philips said.
