One person was taken to hospital and treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire in Central Otago last night.
The Fire Service was called to a house in Alexandra at 8pm and arrived to find it "well involved" with fire, a spokesman said.
The cause of the blaze was not yet known and a fire investigator is due to head to the property on Butchers Point Rd this morning.
Four fire trucks and a tanker responded to the fire.
