One person with serious injuries has been airlifted to Waikato Hospital after a car plunged down a steep bank and rolled near Kihikihi, south of Hamilton, soon after daylight today.
The vehicle left Owairaka Valley Rd and went down a bank, trapping both occupants, police said.
One was taken to hospital and the other escaped serious injury.
Further north near Karaka, 40km south of downtown Auckland, a diesel spill on Karaka North Rd and Walters Rd has prompted police to issue a "drive carefully" warning to motorists.
Police said the spill was being cleaned up.
