One person was injured after an SUV crashed down a suburban bank today.

The crash happened this morning on Glenvar Rd, Torbay, on Auckland's North Shore.

A dark blue Toyota Surf appeared to have left the road.

A cameraman at the scene understood school students were in the car and two occupants were trapped until firefighters arrived.

A St John Ambulance spokesman said one person had very minor injuries, was assessed at the scene and did not need to go to hospital.
