A four-wheel-drive rolled on its side after colliding with a minivan in central Auckland this morning.
Fraser Smith was across the road when the crash happened on the corner of Hobson and Wyndham Streets.
He said he heard an "almighty smash".
Mr Smith said about 10 people tried to roll the four-wheel-drive back on to its wheels but the vehicle was too heavy.
"I asked the driver of the mini-van if he was alright and he said: Yeah mate, I'm fine, it's not my car though," he said.
Auckland City fire senior station officer Sulu Devoe said fire fighters made sure no one was trapped in the vehicles and there were no oil leaks left on the road.
A spokeswoman for St John Ambulance said one person was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
