A person has been taken to Waikato Hospital following a small explosion at an asphalt plant in Hamilton.
The explosion happened just after 1pm at the Downer Engineering plant on Manchester Pl.
The extent of the person's injuries is not yet known.
Three fire engines from the Pukete station attended but there was no fire as a result of the explosion.
A Pukete Fire Station spokesman said machines at the factory had been isolated and they had now left the scene.
