One dies after Otahuhu house fire

One person is dead and another is in hospital after a house fire in Auckland overnight.

Four fire appliances were called to a fire at a house in Albert St, Otahuhu about 11.15pm and firefighters found a two level house well alight.

One person was found dead at the scene and another was taken to hospital.

The fire was now out but one fire engine was still at the scene dampening down hotspots, Fire Service northern communications spokesman Tony McDonald said.
