One woman died and three others were injured in a crash in Canterbury last night.
Ashburton police were called to a fatal crash at the intersection of Hamptons Road and Seafield Road in Seafield, east of Ashburton, at 11.55pm.
"Police located one vehicle that left the road at the intersection. One female occupant died at the scene and three others were treated by St John Ambulance," police said.
The Serious Crash Investigators and Ashburton police were investigating the crash.
