One dead, one serious after three car crash

One person is dead and another seriously injured following a three car crash in Christchurch last night.

St John ambulance spokesman Ian Henderson said emergency services were called to Birmingham Drive, Sockburn at 10.22pm.

Mr Henderson said one person died at the scene, while a man, aged in his 20s, was taken by ambulance to the Christchurch Hospital Emergency Department with serious injuries, including possible chest and head injuries.

Police are investigating the crash.
