A person has died following a serious assault in Waikato on Wednesday evening.
Police rushed to Cavan Str Ngāruawāhia shortly before 9.30pm after reports of the assault.
A police spokesperson said one person was in custody following the incident.
Police are making inquiries into the circumstances of the incident, the spokesperson said.
