One person has died following a crash in St Albans, Christchurch this afternoon.
The crash between a van and a ute occurred at 12.53pm at the corner of Cranford Street and Innes Street.
The person who died was driving the van while the people in the ute are believed to have minor injuries.
Cranford Street was closed for four hours but reopened just past 4pm after considerable clean-up work.
Motorists should still expect delays until the backlog of traffic has dissipated, Christchurch transport authorities said.
