One person has been killed in a barn fire south of Auckland this afternoon.
A northern fire communications spokesman confirmed there had been a fatality at Karaka, 10km southwest of Papakura.
The fire was in either a barn or stables. Firefighters were called just before 4pm, he said.
Six fire appliances and other specialist units were sent.
