A baby boy was apparently uninjured in a fatal crash near Rotorua this afternoon.
A woman died after two vehicles travelling in opposite directions collided on State Highway 5, just south of Rotorua, about 2.55pm today.
Police said a baby from the woman's vehicle was taken to Rotorua Hospital. He was not believed to be injured at this stage.
Two men from the second vehicle were taken to Rotorua Hospital with moderate injuries.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
