KEY POINTS:
One person is dead after an accident that has blocked the Paekakariki Hill Road on the Kapiti coast today.
Police closed the road, which runs between Pauatahanui and Paekakariki, at 4.15pm today.
A detour was in place 5km south of the accident spot at Grays Road.
Police expected to clear the road by 7pm this evening.
