One dead in North Island crash

One person is dead and two children were injured after a car rolled in the central North Island this morning.

The accident happened about 9.30am on State Highway 4 near the town of Raetihi, 12km west of Ohakune, a St John Ambulance spokeswoman said.

The person died at the scene, and the two children were taken to Whanganui Hospital.
