KEY POINTS:
A man is dead and a woman seriously injured after a tractor collided with a power pole on a Canterbury farm in Canterbury this morning.
The accident occurred at Mayfield, 35km north-west of Ashburton, around 10.20am and was attended by police, ambulance and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, police southern communications Inspector Mike Coulter said.
No further details were available.
