One dead in Far North crash

One person is dead after a crash in the Far North this afternoon.

Acting Inspector Danny Meade said emergency services were informed about 5.45pm about the crash.

He said one person had died in the crash on the unsealed Oruru Road, Peria, about 21km east of Kaitaia.

It was unclear if any other vehicles were involved or anybody else was injured.
