One dead in crash north of Auckland

One person is dead and four injured after a head-on motor vehicle crash north of Auckland this afternoon.
The crash occurred on East Coast Road at Redvale, 29km northwest of downtown Auckland, about 3.10pm.
A Fire Service spokesman told NZPA the two-car crash appeared to be head-on.
One person was
seriously injured, while three had moderate injuries.
Emergency services were at the scene and the road would remain closed while the crash was investigated, police said.
Traffic diversions were in place.
