One person is dead after a car crash south of Dargaville in Northland this morning.
A Fire Service spokesman told NZPA emergency services were called to the scene near Tokatoka, 18km southeast of Dargaville on State Highway 12, at 10.38am.
They found a car had gone off the road and one person was dead at the scene.
Nobody else was in the car and no other cars appeared to be involved in the crash.
It was the second fatal crash in Northland today. Early this morning one person lost their life in a crash on State Highway 1 at Mata, south of Whangarei.
