A motorcycle rider has died following a collision with a car near Cambridge this afternoon.
The rider died at the scene and the driver of the vehicle has been taken in a serious condition to Waikato Hospital, a police spokesman said.
No further information is yet available as to cause of the Cambridge Road crash or the identities of those involved.
Diversions are in place between McLarnon Road and Cox Road. The road is expected to be closed for the next few hours.
