Fire Safety Crews are at the scene of a suspicious caravan fire in Southland overnight.
Fire Service Shift Manager Andrew Norris says one person died in the blaze, which broke out on a private property in Edendale.
He says emergency crews got the call just before three this morning and arrived to find the caravan well involved.
Andrew Norris says initial reports were that no-one was inside, but crews soon confirmed a single fatality.
