One man is dead and four others injured after a two-car head on collision in South Auckland this morning.
Police said the incident occurred just past the Glenbrook steel mill. The dead man was the sole occupant of one car.
Two people from the other car had been taken to hospital while two others escaped with minor injuries.
Police said the road was closed and traffic diverted until further notice.
Meanwhile emergency services are at the scene of another collision on the fog-bound State Highway 1 at Rangiriri in North Waikato when a northbound truck and trailer rolled leaving the driver with moderate injuries.
Traffic was banked up for about 1km, police said.
