One person is dead and another is seriously injured after a crash in Southland this afternoon.
Police were alerted to the single-vehicle crash around 2.30pm.
A police spokesperson said emergency services were called to the scene of a serious crash on Old Coach Rd, Kaiwera, near Gore.
Police said initial indications were two people were injured, however police confirmed later that one person had died at the scene and the other was in a serious condition.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
