One dead after SH1 collision at Puhoi

One person has died after two vehicles collided on State Highway One near Puhoi, north of Auckland.

Inpector Kerry Watson said police attended the crash shortly before 11am.

One person died as a result of their injuries and another had been taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The road is expected to remain closed to traffic until about 2pm.

Diversions are in place at SH1 and Woodcocks Road and Kahikatea Drive on State Highway 17 just south of the Silverdale Intersection with the Motorway.
