KEY POINTS:
Police and the Fire Service remain at the scene of a fire that killed one person in Wanganui East early this morning.
The fire in a sleep-out was well alight by the time fire fighters arrived at the scene but the blaze was quickly brought under control.
Wellington fire communications shift manager Murray Dunbar said the body was still at the location and would remain there until both police and fire were satisfied with the investigation.
