One person is dead after an incident in the Bay of Islands this morning.
Two ambulances were called to the scene of what is believed to have been a drowning in the Opito Bay area near Kerikeri.
A St John spokeswoman confirmed one person was dead.
The Herald understands that the incident occurred at a waterfront property about 15 minutes from Kerikeri.
