A person is dead and another seriously injured following a crash on State Highway Two west of Ngatea on the Hauraki Plains.
Police have released the name of a woman who died. She was Gillian Welch, aged 67, of Ngatea.
One other person was taken to Thames hospital with minor injuries and is expected to be released later today.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened about 12.30 this afternoon.
The serious crash unit has attended and investigations are continuing to identify the cause of the crash.
