One person has died in a collision between a car and a truck south of Auckland.
Police say the fatal crash occurred about 8.05pm, northbound on SH1 about 200 metres north of the SH2 junction in Pokeno.
Police Serious Crash and Commercial Vehicle Investigation Units are on scene, as well as fire and ambulance.
There are diversions in place on SH1 north and south of Pokeno, and at the end of SH2 preventing traffic going north. The northbound on-ramp at Helenslee Road is closed.
All vehicles are being diverted north via Tuakau on Whangarata Road.
