KEY POINTS:
A person is dead after being hit by falling steel at a construction site in Auckland this morning.
Emergency services were called to the site on Ormiston Road, East Tamaki, at 10.38am and were still on the scene early this afternoon.
The Department of Labour said it had been informed of the death and would be investigating the incident.
