KEY POINTS:
One person is critically injured after a truck and car collided south of Coromandel township this morning.
The Fire Service are cutting people free of the wreck in what is the second major crash involving a truck in the past hour.
A Fire Service spokesman said the crash occurred on State Highway 25m, between Preece Point Rd and the 309 Track, at 10.56am.
Auckland's Westpac rescue helicopter is also at the scene preparing to take the critically injured person to hospital.
Two other people are being treated for minor injuries.
A second crash, in which a diesel tanker rolled, has been reported on State Highway 41, on the western arm of Lake Taupo about 10.40am.
The crash occurred on a straight stretch of road. There were initial fears that diesel was spilling but firefighters have confirmed this is not the case.
The truck driver was said to be shaken from the accident and suffered an injured hand.
Police serious crash units have been called.
