Richard Young has taken up the re-established position of group general manager, finance and planning, for DB Group. He has been in a range of senior finance positions including group general manager commercial for DB Group, and general manager finance and planning for DB Breweries.
Mr Young will be responsible for the coordination of planning processes and for all aspects of financial management for the group.
* Lynne Robson is the new public relations manager at the Centra Auckland Hotel. She was marketing manager for Dymocks Booksellers.
* Mercury Energy has appointed Gordon Pavich as sales manager. He has held senior management roles with Vodaphone over the last six years, including a seven-month secondment to the company's United States base where he worked as a sales manager.
* Kerry Wood has left his job as business manager with Telecom Directories to join software developer and publisher, Reckon Ltd, as New Zealand manager. The company markets Quicken financial management and accounting software. Before joining Telecom, Mr Wood was managing director of Premium Books.
* Transformational leadership company, IAS Australasia Ltd, has named Brent Larsen as corporate development director responsible for leading its marketing, sales and client development in New Zealand. He was Air New Zealand's regional marketing and sales manager for New Zealand.
* Sovereign's general manager marketing, Russell Hutchison, has been promoted to general manager strategic research. He has held the marketing role for three years.
Sue Burnett, who was with the National Bank as chief manager marketing, has replaced him. Alan Mearns has become risk services manager.
* Clive Harrison has become client director with Wang New Zealand. He was general manager of retail for Power New Zealand and has also worked with Telecom Business Systems and Fletcher Steel. Gary Breed has become client manager. He has had 30 years in the IT industry here and overseas, and was running his own health industry software company, ICS International.
* Dunhill Management Services has made Ian Webster general manager, responsible for the establishment and development of a branch network for the Australian company. Mr Webster has held senior positions in the recruitment industry in New Zealand for the last 10 years and before that worked in financial services here and in Australia.
* Gail Taylor is joining Novell as a systems engineer in Auckland. She has a background in IT, having worked as technical instructor and pre-sales consultant with Novell in Britain, and with Lotus and Compaq in Europe.
* Krishnan Pillay has left Telecom Directories to join Atlantis Marketing as sales manager, data.
