As the 2012 London Olympics concludes, Foreign Minister Bob Carr says Sydney still holds the title of the best Games in history.
Senator Carr, who was premier of NSW when Sydney hosted the Olympics in 2000, says his fondest memories are from those Games.
"The title of the best Games
will never be taken from Sydney, as far as I'm concerned," he told ABC Television on Monday.
The Sydney Games captured the whole spirit of Australia, he said.
"They said something wonderful about the funny, friendly country that Australia is."
