Estonia's Kristina Smigun is set to be the toast of Estonia for winning the first gold in her discipline for her country, in the women's cross-country 15km pursuit.
The former world champion Smigun swept past veteran Katerina Neumannova, of the Czech Republic, in the skate to the finish to claim her country's first medal of the 2006 Olympics in the opening race of the cross-country programme.
