Older people are being asked to complete an online survey about issues they face in the workplace.
The Equal Employment Opportunities Trust launched the survey today and will ask questions about inter-generational conflict and age discrimination, but the main focus is older people's experiences and preferences at work.
"This research will help answer employers' questions about the needs and attitudes of older people," says EEO Trust chief executive Dr Philippa Reed.
"Older workers are a growing proportion of the labour force so employers looking for the very best people need to know how to create workplaces which suit them.
"Older people may have different needs around working patterns, training opportunities and workplace support. With the right information, employers can create versatile workplaces which draw on the skills and energy of all age groups and encourage co-operation between different age groups."
Dr Reed says the survey will explore some of the same issues but from the employee's point of view.
"We welcome the views of anyone, regardless of their age or whether they are working or retired."
