KEY POINTS:
Around 60 firemen last night brought a massive blaze in an Inglewood warehouse under control without the fire spreading to neighbouring buildings.
A Fire Service spokesman said crews would be at the former dairy factory all night dampening it down.
The fire was in an 80m x 30m warehouse stacked with cardboard boxes and material for recycling.
Firefighters removed a number of LPG cylinders.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the blaze was not yet known.
"It was confined to the building of origin which means that there was no fire spread to any adjacent properties," a spokesman said.
Until 1991 the building was home to Taranaki's Moa Nui dairy factory, before it was merged with Kiwi Dairies in Hawera. At one stage Moa Nui was the fourth largest dairy company in the country.
