Police are warning motorists to avoid roads in South Auckland following a significant oil spill.
The spill is expected to cause significant delays.
Motorists should avoid Great South Rd in Drury and Papakura. The road is closed between Parkhaven Drive and Beach Rd, including all side roads leading on to Great South Rd.
The fire service is at the scene and is expected to remain there for some time.
"We are asking motorists to avoid the area and to expect significant delays. We are still working to ascertain where the oil has come from."
