Oil spill continues to disrupt traffic

A 50km/h speed limit remained in force on State Highway 1, north of Wellington, early today after an oil spill and storm debris closed the road yesterday afternoon.

Police spokesman Sergeant Colin Graham said extreme care was still needed on the stretch of road between Pukerua Bay and Paraparaumu which was extremely slippery.

The speed limit would be reassessed later today.
