An oil spill caused a fire in a Coromandel factory over night.
The blaze took hold at a Carter Holt Harvey particle board factory on the Paeroa-Kopu Rd, near Thames, around 3.30am, Fire Service northern communications shift manager Jarron Phillips said.
The large fire started in a drier room and was caused by a broken oil pipe, he said.
At least nine fire crews had been tackling the blaze since the early hours.
Firefighters had bunded and contained the oil spill, and the fire had been extinguished, Mr Phillips said.
